Corrections Policy

How to tell us about a mistake, and how we fix it in the open.

Effective 15 Oct 2026

What we correct

We correct errors of fact in news stories, fact-checks, YNDW reports and any other material the D.I.N. Newsroom publishes. If a story relied on a publisher who later corrects their own report, we update our brief to match.

How to report a mistake

Email hello@thisisnaija.com.ng with the link, what is wrong, and anything that shows the correct facts. You can also use Report on the story or post. If the mistake is about you or your organisation, our Right of Reply process may also apply.

How we fix it

An editor reviews correction requests. When a correction is needed we fix the story, mark it Corrected with the date, and explain the change where it matters to the meaning. We do not quietly rewrite a story to hide a mistake.

When a fact-check verdict changes, we publish the new verdict on the same page. If a story should not have been published at all, editors take it down.

Operator and contact

D.I.N. is operated by Creative Natives Inc.. For corrections, email hello@thisisnaija.com.ng. Please include the page or feature concerned, your D.I.N. handle where relevant, and enough information for us to identify and respond to your request.

We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify identity, prevent fraud, protect other people, or comply with law. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, government identification, or other sensitive information unless we specifically request a secure method for it.
